What is a membership site?

An Overview and the Benefits to Joining One

So in the last post, I jumped right into the benefits of membership sites but perhaps you’re new to the concept of membership sites. Here’s a post to give you an overview of what is a membership site and why it may be to your benefit to join one.

membership site overview

So let’s take one step back. A membership site is a members-only site that you either pay a one-time or ongoing subscription for exclusive training and content.

I’ve joined a few membership sites over the years. You may have already joined one and not even realized it. They can include closed forums, goal association groups, online classrooms and training, and tracking/project teams, etc.

They all the following in common:

  1. They have one main problem to solve or goal to hit and it involves going through content and training provided.
  2. You are joining a team of people who will share the journey with you. It’s very likely you may not personally know the team.

  3. You’re all there to learn and share progress, and encourage.

The Best Professional Purchase I Made Last Year

Manager Tools is My Go-To Podcast for Career Advice

I’m a regular listener of the Manager Tools podcast. I found the podcast about four years ago and have benefitted greatly from their knowledge in the professional sector. I’d like to think of Mark and Mike as two mentors that tell me what the professional setting is really all about.

If you’ve been the professional field for a number a years, you may find some of their content as basic, or a great refresher. If you’re still in an entry-level position and/or looking to do a career change, this is by far the best podcast that I can recommend.

Who will get the most out of this website?

Here’s the quick answer: The kind of person that has decided to get out of their routine and follow a new path. Welcome.

Let me explain: You are going to get the most from this website if you’re someone that’s looking to improve yourself in small steps or, are just looking for inspiration in this area.

A few years ago, I was on the same routine-driven path myself, metaphorically. I’m not even close to where I want to be and the goals that I want to hit, but I’m a lot further than were I was when I wasn’t being intentional. My goals look so much better from here. 😉
