Dear Diary, Day 14

HI, MY NAME IS SUBBIE: The Diary of an Unknown Blogger

I installed my Dark, Edgy, Slick Introspective WP theme. Looks way cool.
However, I played with the layout for too long last night.
I didn’t sleep, just went straight to work.
My dream is coming to life.

I also signed up for another course: Blogging 101.
I’ve already taken Blogging 202 but I was missing the fundamentals.
This should be interesting.
My first assignment: write 100 words about anything.
I wrote about needing a pen pal.

Dear Diary, Day 11

HI, MY NAME IS SUBBIE: The Diary of an Unknown Blogger

I lost the password to my grammar course.
I don’t think I’m getting as much out of the course as I thought I would.
They wanted me to edit and rewrite stuff I’ve written.
I’m ok with moving on. *turns head up and to the right*

My WordPress theme community is a whole different story.
This is going well and it’s a very active group.
I get the most likes out of everyone on comments.
They get me.

Dear Diary, Day 10

HI, MY NAME IS SUBBIE: The Diary of an Unknown Blogger

10 days!!! Woo! 10 days of diary entries.
Ohhhh yeah! Who’s the next … big blogger…. this gal. *point to herself*

*Break to eat because as soon as I started typing I got hungry.*
This sandwich is delicious. Can’t believe I’ve lived without spicy mustard this far into my life. It really does change a meal. Ok, now where was I?

Oh yes, 10 days of journal entries. I’m very excited because that means that I’m starting to be consistent at something. I don’t have any blog posts up yet, but hey, we have to start somewhere.

Dear Diary, Day 09

HI, MY NAME IS SUBBIE: The Diary of an Unknown Blogger

I started a list! Here it is:
  • Start a blog
  • Do the dishes
  • Buy new shoes
  • Buy expensive WordPress plugin
  • Finish grammar course.

*6 hours later*

I lost the hard copy of my list. *taps right temple twice and smirks*
Good thing I wrote it here; in this diary. Because I’m pretty smart.

Dear Diary, Day 07

HI, MY NAME IS SUBBIE: The Diary of an Unknown Blogger

I joined a WordPress theme community. They are very welcoming.
Finally, like-minded people.

I have narrowed down my search to 20 WordPress themes I love. Here’s just the first three on my list:
  • the swiss army theme – has the top 4 features that are needed to launch a blog.
  • the mall theme – every plugin known to man under one roof.
  • the minimalist – one font, one color, huge margins
I’m not sure, but the “mall theme” sounds perfect to me. I put a poll out to the community and my mailing list to see what they have to say.

Dear Diary, Day 06

HI, MY NAME IS SUBBIE: The Diary of an Unknown Blogger

This grammar course is good so far.
However, I keep editing my rough draft from Day 4….
Wait, what happened to my writing from Day 1?

Be right back. *shuffles papers on her desk.*
Hmm… Guess I will go to the car and see if it’s there.

*An hour later* I’m back. I didn’t find the draft but I think I’m ok with moving past the two lost sentences. I did clean the car though. I even when to the car wash. Looks pretty clean.

Dear Diary, Day 05

HI, MY NAME IS SUBBIE: The Diary of an Unknown Blogger

Spent the majority of my day debating whether or not to renew my hosting subscription. It’s a great deal, with a lot of services attached. And yet, I barely use any of them. It’s kind of like having cable with networks, except I have to create my own shows.

So after I was done feeling guilty, I renewed my hosting subscription and my blogging vows.
$100 dollars for 12 months, not bad.
I also received a good amount of coupons and discounts with my purchase. Most coupons were regarding online website designs, and one to a fast food restaurant. LOL

Now, to put content up.
But first, I need to find the perfect WordPress theme.

Dear Diary, Day 04

HI, MY NAME IS SUBBIE: The Diary of an Unknown Blogger

Wrote a blog post today….sort of.
I wrote one paragraph, couldn’t figure out the spelling of a word, landed on a grammar site and signed up for a free course. Ugh. At least my grammar will be awesome. And yes, I did find the correct spelling of the word that started me off on this rabbit hole.

I feel like I should go off to some beach house and stay for a week, alone; Just me and my laptop. And the internet, and books, and notebooks, and cake, and cookies.

Or I could finish my blog post.
The first option sounds less expensive and better for my waistline.
